Uses
Biduret is a diuretic used to treat edema (swelling) and hypertension (high blood pressure). It works by reducing the amount of fluid in the body by increased urination. It is a potassium-sparing diuretic which is able to also maintaining the body's normal level of potassium despite the fluid loss.

Dosage and administration
Follow your physician's instructions when taking Biduret. Do not self-medicate or adjust your dosage unless you have been specifically instructed to. To help prevent future relapses, always complete the full course of medication you have been prescribed even if your condition is no longer present.

Tablets should usually be swallowed whole without chewing or splitting, and taken alongside a full glass of water. Dosage should normally be done in the morning, as the medication will cause an increase in urination, so is not suitable for use later in day when it may interrupt your sleep.

If you forget a dose, take it as soon as possible unless it is near to the time of your next dose. Never take more than your prescribed dose to make up for a previous dose which you have missed.

Side effects
Biduret is usually safe and side effects are rare. Inform your physician of all side effects which you experience. If any persist, worsen, or become bothersome report them as soon as possible. Side effects to watch out for include fatigue, weakness, tingling, numbness, irregular hearthbeat, confusion, and decreased urination.

If you suffer an allergic reaction, seek emergency medical care. Signs you may be suffering a reaction include skin rashes, hives, swelling, and trouble breathing.

Precautions
Before you begin taking this medication, inform your physician of any of the following which apply to you.

• Any allergies you have
• Any other medication you are taking, including non-prescription drugs, vitamins, and supplements
• Any other existing health conditions, disorders, or diseases which you suffer from
• If you are pregnant, trying to conceive (applies to both male and female patients), or breastfeeding

If you think you have overdosed seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms include drowsiness, nausea, and vomiting.

Keep Biduret in a cool and dry place, out of reach of children.
